Pressure Balanced Metal Expansion Joints

Pressure balanced expansion joints are used to absorb axial and lateral movements and eliminate the pressure thrust resulting from the bellows. An additional bellows is placed in the main body of the expansion joint and it is subjected to line pressure to produce a force equal to and opposite to the main bellows. Using the limit rods used, the pressure thrust to be formed is neutralized within the expansion joint itself. They are particularly used when thefixed-point application is not possible.
